How To Be a Pro Wrestler

I’m excited to announce the creation of my new eBook, “How To Be A Pro Wrestler” which I hope becomes a quick read and resource guide for anyone hoping to break into the wrestling industry.

I remember finishing college and thinking about what I wanted to do with my life.  I knew I wanted to break into wrestling (at that time as a commentator), but I didn’t know how.  Luckily, when flipping through the pages of Pro Wrestling Illustrated, I saw and ad for Percy Pringle’s book The Inside Secrets On How You Can Enter The Exciting World Of Pro Wrestling.”  Back then the internet was just coming into its glory, and this book (or extended pamphlet), helped me figure things out, make a plan, and begin my journey.

I hope to do the same for other dreamers hoping to start their career in pro wrestling.  A lot of what’s in this book will be general knowledge for some and publicly available information for others, but I’ve done the work, gathered the information and put it all together to give anyone a quick and easy road map on how to get started.

I was honored to have the former ECW Heavyweight Champion, former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion and current WWE Performance Center Coach and NXT producer Steve Corino write the foreword of the book, and he explains what prospective wrestlers can get out of reading it.

Foreword by Steve Corino

Professional Wrestling has been around for over 100 years, but it’s only been the last 25 or so that the “secrets” of this amazing industry have been unveiled. Or so we think…

In the United States alone there are hundreds of “wrestling schools”, but do they really teach you what you need to know to SUCCEED? Unfortunately, that is a no.

Let me introduce you to my friend, Ryan Katz. One of the first people I met when I tried out as a Coach for the WWE Performance Center was Ryan. He immediately put me at ease. I was so nervous. This was my dream job. His smile and energy are so infectious. He believes in everyone that he meets, even when that person doesn’t believe in themselves. He has such a creative brain that he inspires creativity from people that never believed that they were creative. Because he cares.

Katzie’s “How To Be A Pro Wrestler” book is not about selling books. It is about guiding you to find that belief in yourself so that you can make the right choices in your pro-wrestling journey. Ryan has seen and helped independent wrestlers become the Main Event of WrestleMania and he has also helped athletes that never wrestled before becoming the Main Event of WrestleMania. His track record is way better than he would tell you.

The information in this book is information that I would have loved when I started looking to break into professional wrestling in late 1993. Mistakes would have been avoided. Things that I learned years after I started in wrestling, I could have learned now if I had this book.

Ryan Katz’s experience and magnetic personality come alive in the words written. You can hear his voice as he explains where to find a wrestling school. Or if you’re original dream is to compete, but circumstances dictate that you can’t, Ryan guides you to other fulfilling jobs in this awesome business. What about the importance of production? Ryan covers it.

This is a book that you will read over and over again. If you get in a rut about, say marketing yourself, go back and read what Ryan wrote. This is THE guide. This is a map to help you succeed.

And when you are done this book, remember one thing: BE UNDENIABLE.
